The Terrible Transfer Portal

It is the offseason for college basketball and many teams are facing the loss of many players to the Transfer Portal.

BYU has lost 8 players to the transfer portal and has 4 graduating.

Richie Saunders, Mihalio Boskovic, Keba Keita, and Jared McGregor are graduating.

Rob Wright III, Abdullah Ahmed, Aleksej Kostic, Kennard Davis Jr, Dominique Diomande, Tyler Mrus, Xavion Staton, and KJ Perry have all entered the transfer portal.

They can withdraw from the transfer portal and come back to BYU or can stay in the portal and get picked up by another team.

Richie Saunders entered the transfer portal the year Mark Pope left for Kentucky, but came back to BYU!

Some players enter the transfer portal to see what NIL money other schools are offering, so some might leave and some might come back. But you have to admit, having 8 of your players in the transfer portal is tough.

WHO HAS BEEN PICKED UP?

So far, Dominique Diomande and Xavion Staton have been picked up by other teams. Dominique Diomande is going to Pitt, while Xavion Staton will be going to Oregon State.

WHO HAS BYU GOT FROM THE TRANSFER PORTAL?

BYU has gotten two commitments from the transfer portal.

Collin Chandler from Kentucky. He committed to BYU before his mission and then followed Mark Pope to Kentucky, he is now coming home for his junior season.

Additionally, BYU added junior Tyler Betsey from Syracuse.

Hopefully, BYU can get more players and have some return.
